A Hygiene-Compliant Lifting System for a Food Processing Line
Verlinde delivered an all-stainless-steel hoist solution that meets food-grade hygiene standards, allowing continuous operation within a high-care production setting.
Manufacturing industry
Manelec, a manufacturer and supplier of overhead cranes and lifting equipment, Verlinde partner and member of the Verlinde after-sales network, supplied a full range of cranes, gantry cranes and hoists to its long-standing customer AGCO for a new factory extension in Beauvais. Since part of the installation had to take place above existing machinery, precise and safe handling of the structures was essential. Manelec's technical expertise and know-how proved essential to bringing the project to a successful conclusion.

Founded in 1990, AGCO is an American company and a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of agricultural equipment. The company built an extension to its tractor manufacturing plant in Beauvais, France, on an existing industrial site next to the plant. This extension comprises several buildings that require lifting and handling equipment.
Since relocating to Beauvais in the 1990s, AGCO has turned to Manelec for the supply and upkeep of its lifting equipment. Well acquainted with the standard of Verlinde products and the service its partner provides, AGCO chose Manelec once more to fit out the new extension.
“AGCO has been one of our longstanding customers for more than 25 years, turning to us for the design, manufacture and installation of its lifting equipment. Alongside their design office, we develop the technical solutions that best fit their needs, and we take pride in the trust that has grown between us.”
Mr. Yousfi, Branch Manager at Manelec
The extension called for a range of different lifting requirements. As part of the work needed to be carried out over machinery already in place, it demanded precision and careful handling of the structures. Manelec's technical expertise and know-how made it possible to complete the project successfully.
During autumn 2021, Manelec fitted a 2 × 600 kg overhead crane powered by two Verlinde Eurochain VX 10 electric chain hoists and an onboard weighing system that caps the load. As standard, these hoists come with a range of features, including an electric safety limit switch for the upper and lower positions and an IP55 lifting and steering motor.
Also installed was a monorail equipped with a compact, two-speed Verlinde Eurochain VR16 electric chain hoist rated for 1,250 kg. Manual hoists and aerial work platforms were used to raise the beams and finish the installation safely above the existing machinery.
For a separate building, Manelec supplied a self-supporting, 6.3 ton overhead crane with a 28-metre span. Used for custom modification work on tractors, it runs on a Verlinde Eurobloc VT2 electric wire rope hoist offering a variable travel speed of 3 to 20 m/min.
Come spring 2022, Manelec went on to fit a self-supporting, 5-ton bi-rail crane, along with two independent, radio-controlled, self-propelled gantry cranes, each rated for 3,200 kg.
