Verlinde introduces a new hoist range built with synthetic ropes

Verlinde has rolled out a new synthetic rope electric hoist range: EUROBLOC VF, for loads up to 20 000 kg. Always pushing the boundaries of hoisting unit design, Verlinde has packed this new product with innovations covered by 15 patents. Among these, the use of ultra-resistant synthetic ropes instead of traditional steel ropes as well as the latest management of the rope angle.

Verlinde EUROBLOC VF synthetic rope electric hoists come in 3 models sized to the load supported: VF3 up to 3200 kg, VF5 up to 6300 kg, VF10, up to 20000 kg. They benefit from the travelling speed variation, from 5 to 20m/min. The hoists meet the EN 13001-1 classification.

EUROBLOC VF hoists rely on Dyneema® ropes, a polyethylene fibre up to 15 times stronger than steel and 85% lighter. They offer strong energy-absorption capacity, extremely low elongation and excellent resistance to abrasion, humidity, UV rays and chemicals. Lastly, they cover a wide operating temperature range: from -10°C/+40°C.
The ropes come in diameters of 7 mm (VF3), 8.5 mm (VF5) and 12 mm (VF10) with a 12-strand anti-rotation weave. Because the structure of the synthetic rope stays stable over time, it has a longer service life than steel, which cuts the production downtime needed for its replacement.

Unlike steel, synthetic rope suits many configurations without needing special rope variants: rotation resistant use, heavy duty use, left and right hand lay, galvanized and stainless steel, and various lubrications.

Each hoist type uses just one rope model, which greatly simplifies storage, reduces costs and removes any risk of confusion between different rope models.

Synthetic fibre carries no lubricant, so it calls for no special maintenance or cleaning.The fibre also neither attracts nor collects dust. What's more, it stops steel particles from falling beneath the lifting unit.
This technical innovation reflects Verlinde's drive to bring customers the latest technology while respecting the environment and helping them minimize the ecological impact of its products.

Optimal rope angle management 

Synthetic rope angle management offers several advantages: the “Hook Centering” function cuts the risk of side pulls and load sways during lifting. In combination with the "Follow Me" assistance function, it helps to centre the hoist/hook above the load. The Snag Prevention function reduces the risk of snagging and pulling the load at an angle: the hoist stops if the hook or the load remains blocked during horizontal movement. Together, these functions optimize the life of the hoist components, ease its use and lengthen the duration of the operating cycles.

Lastly, the "Inching Mode" for lifting and the "Anti-Sway» function together allow finer movement of the load and greater safety in use.
