VERLINDE's ExpertCare app

ExpertCare is VERLINDE's smartphone application, letting users query from ground level the MT2 electronic monitoring module on a EUROBLOC VT wire rope hoist mounted on an overhead crane.

The immediate upside is twofold: first, the tool is simple to use, letting the operator view information on a smartphone or tablet running Androïd or iOS while staying on the ground; second, it saves resources, since a lifting platform to reach the hoist is no longer needed for such a basic check.

The system therefore comprises:

• a dongle that reads MT2 data from ground level. Radio communication range between this dongle and a reading device is 15 m as standard, or 50 m with an external antenna.

• User access for installing the application on a smartphone or tablet.

The ExpertCare application lets users check:

• Faults and alarms.

• Remaining service life of the hoist, the brake and the contactors.

• Load reading, MT2 internal temperature, and operating time.
