Verlinde introduces a new hoist range built with synthetic ropes

Verlinde has rolled out a new synthetic rope electric hoist line: EUROBLOC VF, rated for loads up to 20 000 kg. Consistently at the cutting edge of hoist design, Verlinde has built numerous innovations into this new product, covered by 15 patents. These include swapping traditional steel ropes for ultra-resistant synthetic ones, plus state-of-the-art rope angle control.

Verlinde's EUROBLOC VF synthetic rope electric hoists come in 3 models matched to the load handled: VF3 up to 3,200 kg, VF5 up to 6,300 kg, and VF10 up to 20,000 kg. All three offer variable travelling speed, from 5 to 20 m/min, and comply with the EN 13001-1 classification.

“Dyneema® is the world's strongest fiber”

EUROBLOC VF hoists are fitted with Dyneema® ropes — a polyethylene fibre that is up to 15 times stronger than steel yet 85% lighter. It offers strong energy-absorption capacity, minimal elongation, and outstanding resistance to abrasion, moisture, UV exposure and chemical agents. It also works across a broad temperature range: from -10 °C/+40 °C.

Rope diameters run to 7 mm (VF3), 8.5 mm (VF5) and 12 mm (VF10), each built with a 12-strand anti-rotation weave. Because the synthetic rope's structure stays stable over time, it outlasts steel in service, cutting the downtime needed for replacement.
Unlike steel, synthetic rope handles many configurations without requiring special variants: rotation-resistant use, heavy-duty use, left- and right-hand lay, galvanized and stainless steel, and assorted lubrications.

Each hoist type uses just one rope model, which greatly simplifies storage, reduces costs and removes any risk of confusion between different rope models.

Because synthetic fibre carries no lubricant, it needs no special upkeep or cleaning. Dust does not cling to or build up on the fibre either. On top of that, it stops steel particles from dropping beneath the lifting unit.

This technical innovation reflects Verlinde's commitment to giving customers access to the newest technology while respecting the environment and helping customers cut the ecological footprint of its products.

Optimal rope angle management

The synthetic rope angle-management functions bring several benefits: “Hook Centering” cuts the risk of side pulls and load swinging while lifting. Paired with the “Follow Me” assistance function, it keeps the hoist/hook aligned above the load.

The “Snag Prevention” function lowers the chance of the load catching and being dragged at an angle: the hoist halts automatically if the hook or load stays blocked during horizontal travel. Together, these functions extend the working life of the hoist's components, make it easier to operate and lengthen the duration of its operating cycles.

Lastly, the “Inching Mode” for lifting and the “Anti-Sway” function together enable finer control of load movement and greater safety in operation.
